Our LogoDepicted in our logo are an eye and a lens in the form of a circle. The circle is symbolic of the fact that our distribution company has come full circle by placing on the South African market the very lens that our Managing Director was successful in launching in Europe for clinical studies 10 years ago. The eye and the lens are a pictorial representation of the micro lens that is the spearhead product of our portfolio of carefully selected and innovative medical devices for which we are distributors in South Africa. |

NEWS23 March 2012 FineVision: We are pleased to announce the addition of this highly innovative trifocal IOL made by Physiol in Belgium. The FineVision optic combines two diffractive structures that are adjusted to offer the +3.5D addition for near vision and another +1.75D addition for intermediate vision. It is designed so as to reduce the loss of light energy resulting from any diffractive system. This energy gain results in a significantly improved performance for intermediate vision while maintaining the performance for far and near vision. We will initially launch this lens to carefully selected Ophthalmologists in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban. We hope to make the product available to the broader South African market in July this year. 01 March 2012 Lipo-Nit: After successfully launching the TearLab product on the South African market we now add Lipo-Nit Lipid spray for Dry Eye to our range. The results of studies confirm the hypothesis of a multifactorial genesis of contact lens related dry eye disease and therefore call into doubt the therapeutic approach which is in most cases focussed on the replacement of the aqueous tear film phase. Taking into account evidence based criteria the present therapy standard for contact lens wearers with symptoms of Dry Eye Disease should be supplemented by an important and effective therapy option, namely lipid replacement therapy with a phospholipid-liposomal eye spray. Lipo-Nit is sprayed onto the closed eye three to four times a day and will not smudge make-up. 15 February 2012 Peschke: We are proud to announce our partnership with Peschke Meditrade in Switzerland. Peschke have been at the leading edge in the design and manufacture of Cross Linking devices for many years. The Peschke device fits into the PresbiVision range of products especially well as it is the first such device available on the South African market which reduces the radiation time from 30 minutes to only 5 minutes. This reduces the discomfort for the patient by 25 minutes. To further reduce the patient discomfort we also supply the MEDIO CROSS Riboflavin solution in trans epithelial form. This eliminates the need to roughen up the Cornea before Cross Linking. The normal versions of Riboflavin in Isotonic and Hypotonic form are also available under the Medio Cross label. 01 November 2011 New Distribution agreements TearLab: In line with our strategy to be the supplier of highly innovative patient solutions, we have taken on the distribution of the TearLab system for the diagnosis of Dry Eye Disease. TearLab is the first objective and quantitative measurement for Dry Eye disease and delivers fast and accurate results using only 50 nanoliters of tears. Ophthalmologists and Optometrists can now incorporate Osmolarity into the standard of care to give the best indication of the early stages of the disease. The right treatment can then be put in place from the outset without having to put the patient through a 'trial and error' period. (www.tearlab.com) |
